By Thursday night we have lost our beautiful weather. Rain. Rain Rain. We met for another German lesson this time learning important works such as who what where and when.
Justyn, who we left with a swollen thumb from an infection on Thursday night, had an interesting experience with one of the others students father, a Dr, who managed to take care of it, but I will leave Justyn to tell the story with his usual flourish! Cole, confessed to having lost his wallet, somewhere between Dachau and getting home, thankfully his passport was NOT inside. The wallet was later located on the bus and returned that evening.
Mayor McMahon, joined us for a session of German and spoke to the students about their reposnsibility as ambassadors. In the evening we all met for a farewell dinner (ironically to be follwed by a welcome reception this morning.)
At dinner many of the students were able to express their thanks for this experience. Ray, Taylor, Edwin, Devyn, Justyn, Marjorie, Tina and I am sure others spoke very well towards the experience and the friendships they have made, not only with their german partners, but with other American students as well. Tina gets the prize for creativity! She and her partner put on an interpretive poetry piano beatnik perfomance that brought the house down and Marjorie gets points for speaking auf Deusch!
Today we meet with the Mayors and the students will enjoy a last weekend with their families.
