The weekend began with a mayor's reception where both the Mayoress and Mayor McMahon gave speeches about the exchange programs between cities. The school exchange being of course one of the biggest connections between the towns. The students arrived in their finest attire, many of the girls sporting dresses. We were given heart shaped cookies to wear, ate more bretzeln, and took a huge heart shaped photo. Then off to spend time with their families.
Today we met in the morning and had a tour of the fire brigade. The highlight was going up in the bucket truck over 100 feet in the air. The view was spectacular!
Cole confessed to losing his wallet again, and finding it. Devyn was late in getting to the bus and forgot his belt, drooping isn't the word. Ray found his uncle's helmet in a display case. Elizabeth squealed the entire way up and back down.
I hope they know where their passports are and they haven't bought too much chocolate. Tomorrow is the true test. I hope the air traffic controllers wait to go on strike! See everyone soon. And I apologize for spelling errors, between the switched up keyboard and my language center, I am lucky I can spell at all.
