still alive after all this time

Whew!  We are still alive and kicking.  It seems that one of the posts I made wasnöt published and I apologize.
The kids are all doing wonderfully! A brief overview of our event to date.
Wednesday:  arrival and stay awake day
Thursday: Tour of the city and bowling
hmm sashira is as bad a bowler as I am.  Kirk can dance.  Ray can do a backbend and also lead a conga line.
Friday: Trip to Rothenburg and the Bird show
Saturday Sunday and Monday; Kids loose with their families

Wow.  This morning we met with the students in 2 smaller groups for an informal German Lesson and a chance to share the weekends activities.  Students were able to visit Munich, Stuttgart, Lindau (Boden Sea) Austria, Switzerland, Honzlern (spelling?) Castle lichtenstein, the adventure park, Wassen, Strassbourg France the list goes on an on!

We checked journals and shared stories.  First when reading Tina's journal I thought she was terribly homesick, that is until she said everything she did this weekend.  No worries there.
Cole made a comparison that his German mother and his mother both drove the car in the same fashion...
Lin was sure that she would be out of shape by the time she gets home, however, she did play basketball go for an 8K run, and go to the high ropes course is one day.
Ray is heading to the fire company tonight.
Devyn found not only myself but another student to help with his algebra work
Wynton has a crumpled piece of paper that I think is his bus pass.

In the afternoon we met again to make Brezel.  I think this is one of the silliest activities but the students have so much fun trying to make them and of course in the end they also get to eat them!

The group has settled in and while there are a few hiccups and homesickness for the most part, they are not ready to come home.

Tomorrow of to Tübingen and to the DAE and then a punt boat ride on the Necar. I hope the weather continues to hold.  Sorry to admit it but it has been beautiful the entire week.

  1. Please tell Lin and Camryn that their Reading class says "Hello" and is looking forward to their return. Sounds like a great time.
