Phew!

We FINALLY made it to Reutlingen! It's been a crazy 24 hours. First, our delayed flight was in Philadelphia, where we waited. And waited. And waited. During the wait, an anonymous student wondered into the wrong sex bathroom. Although entertaining, it was quite disheartening because we hadn't even left the US yet.
8 hours later (and a few hours of turbulence), we landed in Frankfurt at 8:30 AM--around 2:30 AM Reading time. We rush and push through the people in the airport to catch our next flight, only to be held up at security. We literally RUN to gate B2 only to be met by nothing--we miss our connecting flight by 6 minutes. 6 MINUTES.
Lufthansa amazingly figures out a way for all 16 of us to make a later flight at 1:05 PM (thank goodness). And again we wait. Most students opted to use that time to catch up on some much needed sleep.
Soon enough, to the surprise of many half asleep students and chaperones, we were boarding our plane to Stuttgart. A skip, hop, and a jump and we had landed! We find our luggage, which (to our relief) was waiting for us at the baggage claim. We board the bus for our 30 minute ride to Reutlingen. At last, at about 3 PM, we arrive in Reutlingen and the students have a chance to meet their host families. The chaperones lovingly waved goodbye to the RHS students as they went walked off into the sunset of our first day in Germany.
