On a cold, blustery morning in Germany, 13 students embarked on an adventure in Art! Today we learned all about German artist HAP Grieshaber at the art museum Spendhaus. Many of the students have already decided that there is far too much walking in Germany by our second day, so they took the elevator up to the fourth floor. The chaperones just shook their heads and took the stairs. Our museum guide, Sabine, explained the contributions that Grieshaber made to the German art community after WWII: he is best known for his work in printmaking. After our walk through the museum, students were given the chance to create art of their own! Each student made a print using foam and some paint. We had some impressive results! Watch out Reading, we have some future artists in our midst! Get a print while they are still affordable!
All weekend is free time for the students to spend with their host families. Hopefully we have some good stories to share come Monday! Bis Spater!
PS-Mr. Slater, I'd say one blog post a day is pretty acceptable.
