This morning, American students did their best to describe life as an American teen as well as the American school system at "Rent an American Day." During this program, teachers at the three German schools were given the opportunity to have an American student lead a class discussion. Stephanie had the best experience--she had to fight off a group of 9th grade boys that refused to give up on the chance of having her as their speaker.
After "Rent an American Day," students baked. Yes, you read that right--THEY BAKED. So all the parents that are reading this, your child's excuses for not being able to cook will not work after this trip. We met at the Berger Bakery where students made pretzels, a giant pizza, and animal-shaped pretzels. Oh man, the skills! There was dinosaurs, snails, a pineapple, some hedgehogs, a butterfly, Mr. George Washington and many more! After the baking, everyone was able to enjoy (and take with them) the pretzels, pizza, and animals!
